Arlon-Glen, Allison, Hayden, Sydney and Aulora

Our friends AG and Allison sent us a couple of squares to choose from. They recently moved to Texas from Florida.

They selected fabric that they thought represented our faith and strength over the past few years. I was really touched to receive these.

Michael, Missy and the boys

One of my dear friends from the chat group sent me a square this week.

I love that she chose a fabric that depicts how we feel about living in a free country.

My dad was born in Cuba and lived there for a time during the beginning of Castro's communist reign. He has instilled in all of his children a love and respect for the United States and a caution that we must always vote and pay attention to what is going on in our country because history repeats itself.

My dad returned to Cuba for the first time 3 years ago. He hadn't been there in nearly 40 years. He enjoyed his trip with his mom, sisters and brother. They were able to see my Great Grandma for the last time, she passed away several weeks after my dad returned home.

Here he is with my great grandma - Mama Yoya, my grandma - Mama, and my great aunt - Tia Chiki during their trip.

Isn't he cute?

Scott and Katherine Lewis

I got a square in the mail from my cousin Kat last week. She worked on it with the help of her mother-in-law.

My favorite memory with Katherine is when she and her hubby came to Florida for a visit. I remember eating chicken wings at Gator's Dockside with them and my brother and sisters.

We miss you guys and hope to see you soon!

Uncle Larry and Aunt Clare Fisk

Michael's Uncle and Aunt came to visit his parents and Grandma a few weeks ago and Aunt Clare brought these squares with her along with sweet messages about each.

They hope the new little one will have a love for animals.

They hope the new little one will enjoy learning.

They hope the new little one will enjoy and appreciate the beauty of the earth.

We hope so too!

Not as easy as I thought

Well we have had our first major up and down in this process. We had a birth mother contact us about a week and a half ago. We spoke with her on the phone and through email and we thought she was great. We also thought the situation was great. She was from Utah so we could have stayed with my sister part of the time, she was having a girl and she was due in less than a month. Unfortunately, last night she told us that she had been trying to decide between us and another couple and she felt strongly that the other adoptive couple was meant to raise her child.

So we are sad. But, we know there is a little one out there that the Lord has in mind for our family.

Tony, Kendra, Emma and Lily

Our friends Tony and Kendra dropped some squares by our house not too long ago. They are our neighbors and go to our church. Tony is also our home teacher.

Here are the scraps they sent along with a cute baby photo book.
