Margaret has always enjoyed children and sharing fairy tales she has written with them. I remember her sharing stories with me as a child. So I thought this nursery rhyme fabric would be perfect for her.
Margaret wrote a poem for the baby:
God’s greatest of all creations is man
For which purpose he created this beautiful earth
In the beginning all those who chose Christ’s plan
Were granted life here beginning with a glorious birth.
As we look back to our ancestors we hold dear
And on forward to our coming posterity
Its like peering forever into Heaven’s mirror
Together we go on forever into eternity.
God’s glory is to bring to pass his greatest blessing
The immortality and eternal life of man
Our ultimate destiny is unsurpassing
For eye hath not seen nor ear heard all that God doth span.
So rising with their life’s star from God’s courts on high
Is a sweet new baby, a royal child of God
Sent on their mortal journey as spirit loved ones bid goodbye
To parents filled with love for each step their child will trod.
For Grandma's fabric I chose something I loved. A sweet yellow fabric with blue and green animals all over it.
Grandma also sent along a quote:
Motherhood is the greatest potential influence either for good or ill in human life. The mother’s image is the first that stamps itself on the unwritten page of a young child’s mind. It is her caress that first awakens a sense of security; her kiss, the first realization of affection; her sympathy and tenderness, the first assurance that there is love in the world.
